Automatic Car Rental in Goa

An automatic is the single thing that makes Goa driving easier for a visitor. The coast road between Calangute and Baga at 6 pm in December is stop and start for a kilometre at a time, Mapusa on market day is the same, and the hill starts up to Chapora Fort and on the Mollem ghat are where a tired left leg and an unfamiliar clutch meet. In an automatic none of that is work. If you drive an automatic at home, rent one here; if you drive a manual at home and are landing late after a long flight, an automatic is still the kinder first drive.

Which Automatic for Which Trip?

• Two people, beach lanes, the lowest rate: the Swift automatic, or the i20, Baleno, Glanza or Grand i10. An Economy Hatchback from ₹999 per day, and the easiest car to park in Calangute or Anjuna.
• Four adults with suitcases: the Creta, automatic only, or the Venue automatic. Compact SUV from ₹1,599 per day.
• A family of six: the Innova Hycross (automatic only), the Innova Crysta automatic, the Ertiga automatic or the Alcazar. 7 Seater from ₹1,899 per day.
• The fun drive: the Thar soft top is automatic only; the Roxx and hardtop come in both. Thar from ₹2,499 per day.
• Presence: the Fortuner, automatic only, Premium SUV from ₹5,499 per day.
• A wedding or a special drive: every car on the luxury fleet is automatic: BMW 3 Series and GT, Audi A6 and A3 Convertible, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the MINI Cooper Convertible, from ₹11,999 per day.

First Time in an Automatic?

• Left foot on the floor. The brake and the accelerator are both for the right foot; the most common first day mistake is a left foot stamping on the brake out of clutch habit.
• P to park, R to reverse, D to drive. Hold the brake when you move the lever, and put it in P before you switch off.
• On the Chapora and Mollem hills the car will not roll back when you lift off the brake the way a manual can; just move from brake to accelerator.
• In the Calangute crawl, creep with the brake and let the car do the rest. There is nothing to keep your left hand busy, so keep it on the wheel.
• Automatics use a little more fuel than their manual twins in town; over a week in Goa the difference is small. Fuel is extra on every rental, same level out, same level back.

What Is Included

Automatics in the 2026 to 2027 Season

Automatics are the first cars to go in December, in every category. For dates between about 18 December and 4 January, send them by mid November, and say "an automatic hatchback" or "an automatic 7 seater" rather than one model; it is far easier to say yes to.
